  3. I don't mind the m4a, as I rework them to MP3 anyway. IMTOO is a good program for that. You may want to try http://www.giveit2me4free.com to get it for free. Is a useful forum.

  5. Thanks fer all the Son Voltage. I'm all charged up. Mac format works fine for me -- generally I have to hassle with PC complications when downloading. Now I know why your files are always so compatible.

  6. You'll reup them as mp3? You mean you'll transcode them? God, I hope you don't have other stuff here that you've transcoded to a different format or bitrate without EXPLICITLY noting that it's a degraded transcoded copy.

Actually even with a warning you should never be posting anything transcoded.

  7. Hey, I'm Chet Vincent, an alt-country songwriter from Pittsburgh. I was really excited to find this blog dedicated to good country music, its so hard to get people to take you seriously when you say you're a country artist. I couldnt find your email, but I was hoping you take a listen to an mp3 or two of mine, and see what you think. Chet.Vincent@gmail.com if you're interested, thanks!

  8. Thanks guys

howdy, thanks for the other track man. It's like a whole set now.

Anonymous....yes transcode them from m4a to mp3. And yes I frequently do this. Mostly convert FLAC to MP3 (GASP!!!) I know this is looked down upon, but honestly I (and I assume most of my readers) don't want to store 600+ megs per album or show and (again I'm assuming) usually put these mixes onto an MP3 player....most of which do not take FLAC.

Anyway, that's my two cents. I usually don't "transcode" unless the format is not MP3. Most of the mixes I make (non-live shows) are burnt to CD first then ripped at 128. The original files used to burn the CD are anywhere from 192 to 320.

Chet, my email is truersound@gmail.com though I rarely check it. If you send an email leave a comment indicating as such.
