From The Archives: A Truer Sampler 01 thru 14

So in honor of 2 years, here they are again, all they "Truer Samplers" I have made to date. A Couple things I noticed while putting this post together: The Whiskeytown one has an error on the cover (wrong number), The Bottle Rockets one was posted on the 4th of July (how fitting), I think I might have done the Texas one a little different if I was doing it today, and someone left a comment on the Tom T. Hall one that "The Monkey that Became President" should have been included cause it was an election year.....I hope Al Sharpton doesn't see that cause he might get us shut down for retroactive racism :)

  1. Hey Tru',
Happy 2nd! Your posts and comps have been a wonderful addition to my quest for great music. I would have never heard of Wrinkle Neck Mules if it hadn't been for you and I really appreciate that, 'cause I dig those guys.
    Please keep it going!
    Thanks so much.

  3. Thanks a ton for reposting these. I listen to your comps more than anything else in my collection and the only one I lacked was the RWH one.

    GREAT WORK MY FRIEND!!

  4. STAY AWAY FROM THE zSHARE DOWNLOAD LINK FOR ATS02!!!!! IT'S LOADED WITH ADWARE, SPYWARE, AND MALWARE!!!

  5. Let me try this again...last post a minute ago didn't take...

I can't download from ATS any more. The adware attack earlier today was the third inside of a month, and it's really hard to get it all out.
I keep my anti-virus and spyware search programs current, but the adwares I picked up here are not simply being quarantined.

I'll be lurking, watching for you to dump Sharebee, and maybe even post a comment from time to time.

But that's all I can do.

Please, please, PLEASE dump Sharebee. Not all my adware or malware attacks have been from ATS, but they have all been through Sharebee.

  6. OB DAN, sorry to hear this, and this is the first I've heard of it. Though I have been having trouble lately downloading from rapidshare. I wonder if they are related? Sorry man.

The reason I have been using sharebee is because I was impressed with how long the links stayed active.

    Again, sorry

  7. Granted, that is a positive factor. Rapidshit, as limited as it is, does not bog down with all those pop-ups. Have you thought about Mediafire? Keep On Truckin' at http://keepontruckinblog.blogspot.com/ just dumped Rapidshare for Mediafire, effective today.

  9. Hmmm...not that I want to start a bitch session, but it's good to know it's not just me, that Sharebee is a problem.

Maybe we can keep this simple, just drop a quick opinion...should ATS:

    1. Dump Sharebee (suggest an alternative you've had luck with)

    2. Keep it

You already know the dumpers have a 2-vote lead!

  10. I'm having problems too. When I open Sharebeewhich is just a mirror server I'm okay but when I open the actual download link is when it happens. Not all the time but enough so I think twice before I click just how bad do I want this music?

  11. Me too. Just finished repairs after I got nailed by something called virtumonde. I like Mediafire and Filesend too. But not Sharebee.

  12. I found your excellent blog when looking for the Centro-Matic cassettes & a few hours later, I'm still here. These comps are a great idea. I've always loved Old 97's & Bottle Rockets, but I'm really looking forward to having my ears opened to SCOTS & The Sadies...I may even give Whiskeytown a second chance - But, "Stranger's Almanac" is the only one that ever did anything for me (and even then it was just "Women at the Bar" & "16 Days"). I will say that "Everything I Do" is one of my top 100 songs of all time.
