ReplyDeleteIf you will permit me. While I don't agree with cursing I think this guy is hated because he's been a vulgar blogger for a long time now. Vulgar in the sense that he steals music and thinks it's right.
ReplyDeleteBLOGGING is supposed to be about being yourself, not stealing from other people. Guys who throw other peoples' music around and get uppity about it are not the real deal.
Putting up a picture of Johnny Cash and attaching it to the dumb idea that copyrighted music should be given away by some nobody on a blog, is not the real deal at all.
I don't say hate these people but if they keep going, they deserve what they get. It is especially obnoxious when they put really dumb "rules" on the site about "delete the files in 24 hours" and "for review purposes" and "you are not allowed to report me, if you are with the RIAA you can't look at my blog because of Article 78 rule 12 in the boy scout handbook." Whatever.
Want to know why Blogspot exists? It's for community. Self expression. Friendliness. No need to steal music at all and here is an example of what I mean:

If you can't be like this guy and if you can't tell stories, give opinion, show some pictures, and keep the stupid you tube thefts and whole album thefts to a minimum, just go away.
The bottom line is it's illegal, and the other is that it's abusive to the musicians. Nothing wrong with telling people about a concert you saw and giving them a link to the website where the artist gives away what he chooses to give away.
I think that's why a guy like this is hated, Matthew. He's been doing this for months and months and keeps getting more self-righteous about his "right" to steal.
I don't think cursing him out is the best way but he might not understand anything else, so that explains abuse he gets, which he seems to deserve.
what you linked to was a personal blog, this is a music blog and there are thousands on here just like it (different genres) so it just seems a little weird that this one if being singled out....there has to be more to it.

ReplyDeleteMan, just turn on comment moderation already. I'm sick of reading these guys. You know you go out of your way to play fair on your blog. Why let them publish insults in your comment box? If anybody makes a novel or particularly well written point in this ongoing debate, by all means let us read it. But I haven't seen any of that from the anonymous crusaders in a while.
ReplyDeleteI thought about doing that but I want everyone to see what I'm dealing with here, and what douchebags they make themselves out to be.

I will however be ingoring them from now on and encourage others to do the same.
