From The Archives: Ray Wylie Hubbard and The Cowboy Twinkies

To the folks who have been waiting on this one....sorry it took so long to repost this guys. Hope you will find it in your heart to forgive :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a super oldie but a goodie. This is Ray Wylie Hubbard's first album from 1975. Very hard to find, and very out of print. Notice the early version of Portales on here. This is pretty different from his newer sleazy greasy beautiful blues type stuff, but not THAT much different...you can still tell it Ray Wylie. Fans of Jerry Jeff Walker and Guy Clark will definitely want to check this one out

  1. Oh, Man, it's just so good to see this up again so others can get it ( I got it last time). If you need any reason to download this may I recommend "He's The One (Who MAde Me Number Two)", "(Running 'Croos) The Belly of Texas" and "West Texas Country Western Dance BAnd".

I did always wonder why he didn't cut a version of "Redneck Mother" (maybe it's still unreleased from this session and will come out in some future extra track re-issue...yeah ...right!) but they way I figure it, Jerry Jeff must have had more money or clout with the Record Company or maybe he 'bought' the song from Ray Wylie...sort of a "let me do it, I'll make you and me a whole shitload of money with this one!" That's all I can figure...what do you think, Paul?
