  2. thanks for the new comp! glad you're enjoying the Jungers.

Be sure to check out this show of his, where he does 2 awesome Neil Young covers ("Losing End" and "Powderfinger"), along with some other great tunes.

  6. To be honest, I wish the mixes were at a higher bit-rate (some were,no?) but I understand what you're saying. Although, compilation CDs are given away FREE all the time with magazines and at record stores to promote sales of many of these same artists (okay, not many but SOME). I do think that a number of these performers have to be grateful to you for the exposure.
With NO DERESSION magazine going bye-bye and HARP magazine calling it quits, a blog like yours has become a more valuable resourse for getting the "good word out" about folks that just don't have the budget to call attention to themselves. For instance: I work in the marketing/PR business of music and a 1/3 page color advertisment in PASTE magazine costs, roughly, $2,400 and to try and get a song on their compilation CD costs another $2000-some bucks (yeah, I used to think the editors picked those songs and put out those CDs out of the kindness of their hearts too...). Both HARP and NO DEPRESSION were somewhat cheaper, by the way.
That said, you taking one or two songs and giving notice to an artist (that has no or little money) out of the KINDNESS OF YOUR HEART is a good thing and it's nothing to feel guilty about. I would not have become a fan of Wrinkle Neck Mules so quickly (or ever) if it weren't for you and I have PURCHASED both of their CDs because of you.
    Thank you.
