Everybody else is doing it, so why can't me?

  1. Okay, since you asked (you did ask didn't you?)here's some of my favorites, in no particular order:
Old Crow Medicine Show "Tennessee Pusher"
    The Steeldrivers
The Felice Brothers (with "Frankie's Gun" being my absolute favorite song of the year by a country mile)
    Drive-By Truckers "Brighter..."
    Mudcrutch
    Bon Iver
Black Mountain "Into the Future" (I know, not very Country of me but I can be a sucker for them)
    The Hold Steady "Stay Positive"
There were a bunch of records that had great songs on them but didn't add -up to great albums, such as recordings by: Ryan Adams, Lucinda, REM, Fleet Foxes, Sun Kil Moon, Gary Louris and personal favorite, Calexico)
Album I didn't "get the buzz from":
    Justin Townes Earle's (sorry Tru')

    Jamey Johnson "That Lonesome Song"

  3. Hay,
    Great list True.
The Drive By Mother Truckers deserve to be at or near the the top. Damn they are one hard working band.
Love seeing Drag The River on your list. Some of THE sweetest pedal steel happening right now, execpt for Jon Rauhouse.
    Old Crow, Yea!
    Kink's of Leon, Yea!
The Avett Bros are a great band to keep an ear close to.
And Casey Chambers and Shane Nicholson have a sound to rule.
All in all a MIGHTY FINE LIST.
