Justin Townes Earle's latest album "The Good Life" has really impressed me. Equal parts troubador and honky tonk (and by honky tonk I mean late 50's era country music), but not on the same songs. He really is a natural at both styles too, one of my favorite albums of 08 so far. This bootleg here is a good representation of that album, just a rollicking good time had by all and he even apes his dad's "devil's right hand" intro for Lone Pine Hill (one of my faves off The Good Life).MP3 @ 256

I like the blog and especially like the title. "Trace", for me, was one of the top five albums of the 90's, and will always be a favorite.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff. Anymore Joe Ely?

ReplyDeleteThanks again!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this one. Although I really like the Good Life cd I was more impressed with his songwriting skills on his debut ep Yuma. Check that one out!
