I'm a huge MEC fan. I think that the song "Farewell Transmission" off of the last SONGS:OHIA (or the first Magnolia Electric Co. CD, I've always enjoyed the confusion over that) is a modern classic that poetically captures the giant beast of despair that hovered over America after 9/11.
