From The Archives: Steve Earle - Radio Sessions 2002-2007

So I'm just trying to clear out some requests while I got time, and this is one of them. This is actually a really good set, and anyone who thinks Steve is not worth listening to after Transcendental Blues should give this a listen.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I put this together from 4 different radio shows I had. The outcome is a pretty damned good listen if say so myself. Starting in 2002 in support of Jerusalem, going into 2005 in support of Revolution, and ending with two shows from this year one in preperation, and one in support of Washington Square Serenade. Some nice older tunes on here too. All in all it's a pretty nice set of tunes, mostly acoustic and laid back with the occasional record scratching on the last show....still don't know how I feel about that, but it's not near as bad as it seems like it should be. There are some very interesting interview segments throughout as well.

Also look for Steve in an upcoming play based on Howard Zinn's "People's History of The United States" (a great read if you haven't read it).

  1. MANY THANKS FOR THIS - SOMEHOW I MISSED IT FIRST TIME AROUND. UNFORTUNATELY THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH TRACK 1-09 JERUSALEM WHICH IS CORRUPT. HAVE D/LOADED TWICE BUT SAME BOTH TIMES.

  6. Thanks for the effort! Can't wait to hear it. I've been giving Steve a lot of shit for his last couple of releases, but I'm in a fogiving mood right now, hehe.

  8. Man, this really must be my favorite download from your site, I'm loving it, makes me finally fall in love with Steve's music all over again.
Btw, there're some bad glitches on track 4+5 from CD2, unfortunately exactly when he's talking some more about Townes, anything that could be done about them or are they on the original source?
    Cheers,

  9. Ray Wylie Kid (the 12 year old) again.

There is this guy named Nathan who has blogs for almost every kind of music. The BIG problem is he doesn't label in every sense of the word. His rock blog (http://74.125.93.132/search?q=cache:VwaByA5vOSAJ:nathansrockmoat.blogspot.com/+nathan%27s+rock+moat&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us) has tons of Steve shows from 1988 to the present. The link is to the cached version because the orginal link doesn't work. He also has a country blog (http://nathanscountryranch.blogspot.com/) that has everything from a Hank Sr. show from 1952 to contemporary artist's show from this year. Please check these blogs out so you can feel my sorrow of getting incomplete, messy shows that would be gold if some people learned to label like you do. Many thanks.

Here is a gold mine Steve Earle stuff! These concerts are very amazing. I uploaded them because the only other place to get them is torrent. I got Bit Torrent just to download these, but when it took 5 to 20 hours to download, I knew I had to put them on Mediafire. The fist show is the very important and hardcore bluegrass Live at Station Inn 1999 soundboard recording. This was in a huge FLAC file when I downloaded it. Also, the tracks were unlabeled, so I labeled them to perfection. I used WavePad Sound Editer to batch convert the files to MP3 and normalize them. I highly recommend this program because it is easy to use and has echo, flang, pitch, and many other effects. For these next two files, you must use AccuSplit to rebuild them. The first video file is Live at the Rehearsal Hall. This was a Brave series. It features Steve playing classics and songs from Washington Square Serenade. It is signifigant because it features Allison Moorer and Steve plays banjo on Oxycontin Blues. Last is the best of the shows, McCabes 1991. This performance is clearly historical considering Steve is at the height of his drug use, yet he was still as informal then as he is today. In the encore, he plays a guitar with the original Copperhead Road logo on it. I have found two other torrents, McCabes 1990 and Uncut Gems, but neither will download, literaly. If you have these, the Mexican Demos, or anything else Steve, labeled or not, please post it. I have some unlabeled shows from Nathan's Rock Moat I am planning on labeling and uploading soon (Are you and I the only people who label shows in this world). Please post these links, as the only other place to get them is torrent. If there are any problems, please tell me. Thank you so much.
