Here's to next year...

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone for stopping by and especially to those who commented, to those who follow me on twitter, and to those who send me emails. One of my new years resolutions is to keep up with my email, so anyone who sent me an email and I haven't responded yet....sorry folks. To bands that have submitted music to me but I haven't replied....it's not you, it's me....just overwhelmed is all. I WILL get a handle on this. Thanks again everyone and Happy New Year....here's to 2010

Slaid Cleaves (and The Men of Steel) - Live at Little Brothers Columbus, OH 4-20-04

This is a great show here. I actually like this better than any of his studio work. Slaid is in his element here.....playing live. I wish he would just go ahead and put out an official live album. Listen to this and you will see why. If you like good songwriting with a country bend, this is for you (surprisingly, lots of yodeling on here too). Features 2 of my favorite songs "Lydia" and "One Good Year". There are a few hiccups in the recording during the 3rd song, but overall this is a fantastic boot.

Slaid Cleaves - Live on WDVR Nov. 26, 2000

Allright, this one is a much better introduction to Slaid. He is one hell of a songwriter, and this set really showcases his talents. Songs like "No Angel Knows", "Horseshoe Lounge", "Broke Down", "One Good Year" (one of my faves), and the epic "Breakfast In Hell". There is a second set to this show but I have looked and looked and have not been able to track it down, so if anyone has it, please share :)

Slaid Cleaves - Live on KUT May 31st, 2006

Here's a nice little Slaid Cleaves set for you. If your not familiar with Slaid, he's one hell of a songwriter from Texas. Only here he is doing other peoples songs, in support of his 2006 album "Unsung". So really this one is not much of an introduction to him and will be more for the people who are already familiar with him. It's a good recording nonetheless, he just spends alot of time talking about the songs on said album. I will probably put up a different boot sometime later that will be a better intro, but this is not bad.
